Controller – Mining / Manufacturing (On-Site)

Location: St. Lawrence County, NY

Compensation: ~$120,000 base + 5–12% bonus

Position Overview

The Controller is a fully on-site, operational finance leader responsible for end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, FP&A, and internal controls at the mine site. This is a newly created role with strong visibility and ownership, partnering closely with site leadership and corporate finance.

A critical component of this role is ERP selection and implementation in a complex mining/manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead site accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close
• Own FP&A: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Cost accounting, inventory cycle counts, and capital project tracking
• Fixed asset capitalization and depreciation
• Support internal & external audits; manage SOX/internal controls
• Prepare financial statements and regulatory/compliance reporting
• Lead ERP system evaluation, selection, and implementation
• Partner cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years as a financial leader in mining, industrial, or manufacturing environments
• Strong experience with Excel (advanced) and QuickBooks
• Proven ERP implementation experience in complex operations
• FP&A, cost accounting, and capital project accounting expertise
• Knowledge of IFRS & U.S. GAAP , SOX/internal controls , tax & transfer pricing
• Authorized to work in the U.S. and work on-site in New York

Preferred

• CPA designation
• Public company experience
