Saab, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Services Engineer to join our team in Camp Pendleton, CA. This role provides highly visible customer support through on-site installation, as well as overseeing diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. The Field Services Engineer ensures operational quality of system equipment and instructs customers on proper system operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative team, as well as independently.

  • Perform on-site installation and maintenance of complex equipment and systems.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair equipment as needed.

  • Verify and approve operational quality of system equipment.

  • Instruct customers in system operation and maintenance.

  • Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

  • Interpret customer needs and determine whether problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support representatives, or engineers.

  • Provide field support across all relevant areas, including system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking.

  • Apply learned techniques and contribute to analysis and investigation to solve problems, exercising judgment within defined procedures.

  • Build productive internal and external working relationships to resolve mutual problems by collaborating on procedures or transactions.

  • Focus on providing standard professional advice and creating initial reports and analyses for review by experienced team professionals.

  • Deliver consistent, high-quality customer support.

  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% annually.

Compensation Range: $79,200 - $99,000

When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, and a BA/BS degree in an engineering discipline is preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in a related field.

  • Must hold or have previously held a U.S. DoD SECRET Clearance, with preference for candidates who currently hold an active clearance.

  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and networking systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
