Job Summary

The role of the Consultant is to develop all project deliverables within a specified amount of time, according to project requirements and in compliance with client expectations. The Consultant is responsible for building expertise in Sedlak’s service offerings, including:

• Conduct strategic distribution network design using optimization modeling software
• Assist in the design of large-scale distribution centers
• Develop facility master plans, alternative layout concepts, equipment evaluation and cost analyses
• Prepare detailed specifications and bid packages for material handling vendors
• Project manage bid solicitations, concept recommendations
• Lead team through material handling system procurement, installation and deployment
• Develop & manage scope of work, budgets, schedules, permits, etc.
• Document all project correspondence & construction administration activities

Education and Experience:

B.S. in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years experience in engineering, project management or construction projects
• Working knowledge of architectural design
• Experience with industrial automation, conveyor and sortation systems, and material handling equipment
• Ability to utilize AutoCAD to create facility layouts, design conveyor systems, and specify equipment details
• Broad experience with industrial facility design
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills and experience managing multiple projects
• 20-40% travel required
