Bookkeeper | Caledonia, MI

Salary Range: $49,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices for raw materials and customer payments.
• Perform accurate bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Process payroll for all manufacturing and administrative staff.
• Maintain the general ledger, posting journal entries related to production costs and inventory.
• Assist with tracking inventory levels and reconciling physical counts.
• Prepare and submit sales tax, payroll tax, and other required government filings.
• Generate basic financial reports such such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP), including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Familiarity with inventory management, cost of goods sold (COGS), and job costing specific to manufacturing operations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and record-keeping.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with manufacturing costing principles (e.g., job costing, standard costing, inventory valuation).
• Experience with manufacturing-specific ERP systems (e.g., SAP Business One, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements in financial workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
